Fish Tacos w/ Chili Mayo & Cabbage Slaw

Unpack Your Kit Ingredients

cod fillets (Seattle Fish Co.)
fish taco spice mix (Happy Food Co.)
sour cream
yuzu mayo
local gochujang sauce (Born With Seoul)
lemon juice
lime juice crystals
chopped cilantro
diced red onion
chopped local green onion
shredded local cabbage
local candied jalapeños (Joe's Cellar)
white wine vinegar
local honey (Good Natured Family Farms)
local flour tortillas (Caramelo Tortillas)
queso fresco

What in the holy DUCK?! These local, handmade flour tortillas are made with only four ingredients, including fat from cage-free ducks. And let us forewarn you…fat never tasted SO GOOD!


Grab Your Cookware and Staples

shallow glass baking dish
small bowl
medium bowl
cutting board & knife
salt and pepper

Step 1: Bake the Cod 

PREHEAT the oven to 425 degrees.

PLACE the cod fillets in a shallow glass baking dish and sprinkle with fish taco spice mix.

★ CHEF TIP: If you have some tequila on hand, pour 1oz over fish for extra flavor and drink a shot for yourself!

BAKE on the middle oven rack for 15-20 minutes or until the cod flakes easily with a fork (be carfeul to not overcook).

Step 2: Mix the Chili Mayo

While the cod bakes...

COMBINE the following ingredients in a small bowl and set aside:
sour cream, yuzu mayo, gochujang sauce, and lemon juice.

Step 3: Stir The Slaw Together

MIX lime juice crystals with 1 tablespoons of warm water in a medium bowl until dissolved.

COMBINE the following ingredients in the bowl with the lime juice: cilantro, red onion, green onion, shredded cabbage, candied jalapeños, white wine vinegar and honey.

SEASON to taste with salt and pepper. Set aside.

Step 4: Chop the Avocado

SLICE the avocado lengthwise and remove the pit.

PEEL and chop the avocado.

SEASON with salt as desired.

Step 5: Heat the Tortillas

HEAT flour tortillas according to package instructions: 10-15 seconds in a pan or over direct flame.

Step 6: Serve and Enjoy!

FLAKE the the fish with a fork and divide evenly among the tortillas.

SERVE the fish tacos topped with chili mayo, cabbage slaw, chopped avocado and queso fresco.
